IFA at COPA Series Show 2018

INGESTION/NEAT DERMAL APPLICATION OF ESSENTIAL OILS

In light of the recent increase in promoting the use of essential oils via the route of ingestion (ie, oral, vaginal and rectal) and also via neat dermal application, the IFA wishes to make it clear that it does not support, and never has supported, these methods of application.  Additionally, the IFA will not be associated, in any way (directly or indirectly) with any organisation, company or technique that does so.

In the opinion of the IFA, ingestion and neat dermal administration of essential oils is a potentially high-risk practice, especially where the individual recommending or administering essential oils is not medically qualified to diagnose and/or has a lack of knowledge regarding the pharmacology of essential oils. The IFA is taking this stance based on serious safety concerns relating to these methods of application.
