The IFA have various categories of membership to include all Aromatherapy enthusiasts and practitioners. Membership runs for 12 months.
|Full Membership||Successfully completed the IFA Aromatherapy Diploma Course or equivalent||£80|
|Associate Membership||Successfully completed an aromatherapy course with another course provider and meet the National Occupational Standards||£50|
|Student & Carer Membership||Mandatory for those registered on an IFA aromatherapy course||£25/£35|
|Friend Membership||Open to all non practicising members no qualification needed friend members receive the magazine, granted access to research, discount off events, products and supplies||£35|
Eligibility to the IFA register of therapists is dependent on the following criteria:
Copy of Qualification/Certificate
If you have successfully completed an IFA course past or present please send us a scanned copy of your exam results (if more than five years ago).
For all those who have trained at another course provider you must supply proof that the course you have undertaken meets the National Occupational Standards and send us a copy of the certificate you received on completion. Click here for examples of qualifications we accept.
All members must have current professional indemnity insurance to practise in the UK or within the rules of their country and supply proof of this. We encourage those who are joining us to take advantage of our competitively priced insurance package with Alan Boswell Group at just £46 a year for postgraduate therapists and £28 for students.
First Aid Certificate
We require practising members to hold a first aid certificate. A first aid emergency person or appointed person (one day course) is the minimum requirement, for a list of provider’s click here. Exemption to this requirement are nurses, GP's etc
Continual Professional Development
On initial application proof of CPD is not required or the first year after graduation, it is only when you come to renew your membership that you need to supply proof of 12 hours of CPD undertaken during the year. To find out how you can gain points click here

All members are bound by the IFA’s Articles of Association which includes Codes of Professional Practice. Please read the terms and conditions of membership and tick the box on the membership application form that you have read and agree to the terms therein.

The IFA will then inform the applicant of their decision to process their application. Please note the IFA withholds the right to reject applicants at its sole discretion. If it is identified that a false declaration has been made such person will be removed from the membership.
By giving your consent to gift aid, allows us to claim back the tax you have paid on your membership in the UK at no extra cost to yourself. All funding goes back into increasing the benefits for you as one of our members.
