Licensing Exemptions

The IFA has been granted licensing exemptions for its practitioners in various boroughs of London and surrounding areas, which means you will be exempt of paying when opening new premises please see list.

Private Healthcare Cash Plans

IFA registration is recognised for reimbursement with a number of private health insurers such as Health Shield and Westfield Insurers as part of their policy which means clients can claim back the cost of their treatment with you gaining you more clients.

DBS Scheme

Currently, it is not possible for a self-employed therapists to obtain a disclosure at their own request so the IFA has set up a DBS scheme with 'Disclosure Checks Ltd' who will process disclosure applications for members who currently work, or intend to work, with under 18s or vulnerable adults. Members get a discounted price of £58 including VAT for this service.

Aromatherapy Awareness Week

Every year the IFA hold an Aromatherapy Awareness week to bring more coverage to the profession and our members. Each year we have a set theme, which is published in local and national publications and give our members the opportunity to give 10% off treatments to the public during this week.

Regional Meetings and Networking

We encourage our members to join a regional support group to interact with other therapists and exchange ideas. We currently have regional groups across the country and online regional support group for those in remote area. Register with the CNHC through the IFA

The CNHC has agreed that the IFA may verify applications for CNHC registration who wish to gain the CNHC quality mark. Members wishing to register should download the CNHC Registration Form and send to the IFA office. Click here for more details

Opportunity to Serve your Profession

Full members can apply to serve on the council board and help to shape future policies and programmes of the federation. Members can also receive guidance on how to write case studies and help build a bank of evidence for the efficacy of aromatherapy. Many CAM organisations campaigning for a better health care system in the UK turn to the IFA, which we encourage our members to take part in.

Certificates of Excellence and Awards

We are issuing those who have been with the organisation a certificate of excellence when they have been a member for 10, 20 or 25 years. This certificate shows that these members have maintained the highest of standards in aromatherapy for this duration and we are very proud of our loyal members. Aromatherapist of the year awards are also given to acknowledge the unsung heroes of the profession on an annual basis
