BECOMING AN IFA TEACHER/TUTOR 

LEVELS OF TEACHING:


IFA Principal Tutors must be qualified Aromatherapists for at least five years, and Full Members of the IFA for three years. They should have a teaching qualification. The annual fee for joining the IFA as a Principal Tutor is £100. Please note that, if you are applying for Principal Teacher status and the course owner is someone other than yourself, it is their responsibility to forward all course information to the IFA.  

 

IFA Assistant Tutors must be qualified Aromatherapists for at least three years, and Full Members of the IFA for two years. They should have a teaching qualification. The annual fee for joining the IFA as an Assistant Tutor is £75.


IFA Trainee Tutors must be qualified Aromatherapists for at least two years, and Full Members of the IFA for one year.  They already have, or be planning to undergo a teaching qualification. The annual fee for joining the IFA as a Trainee Tutor is £50.

REQUIREMENTS:


To register as a Principal, Assistant or Trainee IFA Teacher you are required to submit the following documentation:

  • Completed Application Form for Tutor/Teacher Registration
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Copies of relevant Diplomas and Certificates
  • Copy of original IFA Membership Certificate
  • Copy of current IFA Membership Card

IFA NOTE: IFA Tutor Registration is approval to teach an IFA Registered Course.  Your IFA Teacher approval status may not be used as a qualification to teach any Non-IFA recognised course offering other qualifications.

THE BENEFITS - CONTINUAL SUPPORT

lantraThe IFA provides a comprehensive syllabus for the training of professional aromatherapists. The IFA is constantly updating its syllabus in line with developments in education and complementary medicine. We are currently working with LANTRA awards to achieve international recognition for our unique external examination process.

Tutors and Schools running the IFA syllabus will receive support with

  • translation for non-English speaking schools
  • the set up and execution of training
  • exam papers
  • the exam process
  • the marking of exam papers
  • Course providers are promoted via the website and also at PR events organised or attended by the IFA
  • Tutors and course providers (syllabus and CPD) can use the training facility at the IFA headquarters in west London at highly subsidised rates
  • IFA tutors can progress to become examiners, supervising our external examination process for course providers all over the world
